A well-appointed two-storey residential building designed for comfortable multi-generational living in Mbaitoli LGA, Imo State — offering two complete apartment floors with dedicated service areas, balconies, and a BQ unit on the ground level.

Project Description

The Iheme Residence is a proposed two-storey private dwelling situated within the Iheme family compound in Umuahii Mbieri, Mbaitoli LGA, Imo State. The design delivers two fully self-contained living floors stacked above one another, each accommodating a master bedroom suite, an additional bedroom, a combined living and dining area, a kitchen with store, lobby, ante room, and dedicated bathroom facilities — making the building highly practical for extended family living or a dual-occupancy arrangement.

The ground floor also incorporates a Boys’ Quarters (BQ) unit with its own entrance and amenities, providing independent accommodation for staff or guests without compromising the privacy of the main residence. A generous verandah extends the living space outward, while the first floor opens onto two balconies — adding an elevated outdoor dimension to everyday life.

Circulation between floors is handled by an elegant internal staircase set within a dedicated stair hall, which reads as a considered architectural element rather than a utilitarian afterthought. Throughout both levels, the planning ensures a clear separation between private sleeping quarters and shared social spaces, reflecting a mature understanding of how the household will live and move.

The building is constructed using sandcrete hollow block walls filled with lean concrete for strength and thermal comfort, topped with a long-span aluminium roof supported by a robust hardwood timber frame. Large aluminium casement windows — including an aluminium sliding door on the first floor — invite generous natural light and ventilation into every room, while integrated mosquito netting and tinted glazing address the practical demands of the local climate.
